Training
Dates: December 2008 to December 2009
The goal of these training programmes is to present the operational activities that the different project stakeholders could undertake in their respective fields. Adapted and specialized training workshops will focus on the understanding of the use of solar energy for the local communities and the microfinance instruments available to develop access to energy.
These trainings will include:
- Training for the policy makers (microfinance & renewable energy sectors): A strategic training will be designed specially for policy makers to support the development of regulations increasing the links between microfinance and energy provision;
- Training for solar energy service providers: to develop a sustainable network with microfinance institutions, microentrepreneurs and other clients, in order to build an effective commercial partnership in terms of pricing, distributing and maintaining the solar equipments provided;
- Training for microfinance institutions: selected MFI staff will receive training on how to design tailored microfinance products to finance solar energy equipment needs;
- Training for microentrepreneurs: this training programme aims to build capacity and skills of microentrepreneurs and microfinance clients so they can fully benefit from new sustainable energy technologies.
